New 2015 Alfa Romeo 4c Spider at Brown's Alfa Romeo in NY

The all-new 4c Spider continues Alfa Romeo's lineup as a race-inspired performance vehicle. The 4c Spider is packed with Italian style, advanced technologies, and open-air freedom. The vehicle is handcrafted in Modena, Italy, and is based upon a state-of-the-art Formula 1 inspired carbon fiber monocoque chassis. This allows for an incredible power-to-weight ratio. An all-aluminum 1750 cc turbocharged engine with direct-injection, dual intercoolers, and variable-valve timing enable the 4c Spider to be at a  supercar-performance level.

Under the 4c Spider's Hood

The all-new 2015 4C Spider gets its power from an innovative, all-aluminum 1750 cc turbocharged and intercooled engine with dual (intake and exhaust) continuous variable-valve timing (VVT). It puts out a total of 237 horsepower, and a very impressive  horsepower-per-liter number of 136. The engine is mated to a paddle-shifting Alfa TCT (twin-clutch transmission) tuned specifically for the all-new Alfa Romeo 4C Spider. The Alfa TCT's gearshifts are designed to become most aggressive in two separate available modes -  Dynamic and Race. The rev-matching paddle shifts allow for precise gear changes as quick as 130 milliseconds at full throttle. Supercar-level performance is achieved with a carbon fiber windshield frame and aluminum chassis structures, which makes an incredible power-to-weight ratio and.  The 4c Spider has a top speed of 160 miles per hour, and its 0-to-60 mph acceleration comes in at an estimated 4.1-seconds.  There are three available exhaust systems for the 4c Spider.   This includes an all-new Akrapovic dual-mode system. Similar in design to the standard system, the optional racing exhaust removes the muffler, and instead integrates a uniquely designed asymmetric Y-shape system after the catalyst. For added style, the racing exhaust system features integrated dual concentric exhaust tips.

Design of Alfa Romeo 4c Spider

The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4c Spider design is inspired by the legendary 33 Stradale racecar. This is reflected with its mid-engine body form and purposeful and lightweight performance.  Sheet-molded compound (SMC) composite panels forms the 4c Spider's seductive Italian design. On each side of the all-new 4C Spider, the sculpted air intakes are muscular as they lead into elegant looking headlamps. A carbon fiber windshield frame offers strength and lightness. A removable, stowable cloth roof comes standard, while an exposed carbon fiber hardtop is an available option. Step into the 4c Spider's cabin and you will find a race-inspired cockpit. There are two composite-framed sport seats with standard leather and an exposed carbon fiber monocoque that exemplifies its race-inspired technologies. The driver-oriented cockpit features a flat-bottom, leather performance steering wheel with paddle-shifters and aluminum pedals. A fully wrapped premium-leather interior with accent stitching is standard on the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider.  A 7-inch full-color driver information display (DID) cluster displays vehicle information through high-impact graphics. Seven exterior colors are available for the 4C Spider, and include: Rosso Alfa, Black, White, Basalt Grey Metallic, Rosso Competizione Tri-coat, Madreperla White Tri-coat and all-new Giallo (yellow).

The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider elegantly carries on the brand's great sporting tradition. The acronyms 8C and 6C in the 1930s and 1940s distinguished racing and road cars fitted with powerful eight- and six-cylinder engines. The all-new 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, along with the 4c model, is a return to "the great Alfa Romeos", while continuing a tradition with its all-aluminum 1750 cc turbocharged direct injection, dual intercooler four-cylinder engine.
